Prevent Expensive Repairs with Regular Roof Maintenance

In time, even the best roof will become subject to wear and tear. To combat the forces of nature, you need to see that your residential or commercial building undergoes regular inspection and roof maintenance. Just like a vehicle needs regular oil changes and new tires periodically, your roof should be checked and serviced by a professional at least once a year. No one is better qualified to do this than the GAF Master Elite™ Certified roofers at HomeGuard Restoration.

Get Answers with a Professional Inspection

If you are not certain about how your residential or commercial roof is performing, HomeGuard’s experienced team of roofers can provide you with a detailed roof inspection and an expert opinion on its current condition. If you’re considering the purchase of a home or commercial building, we can offer insights into whether the roof needs replacement or repairs, and at what cost. By being informed about the issues your roof has and addressing them in a professional manner, you can avoid unnecessary expenses and extend the service life of your roof.

Factors such as climate, roof design, quality of materials and workmanship, and frequency of maintenance all factor into how long a roofing system will last. If your roof is showing visible problems such as cracking or missing shingles, loose or damaged metal flashings, excessive shedding of shingle granules, and interior leaks, it’s time to have your roof inspected by a professional.

We perform the following types of maintenance:

  • Scheduled roof inspections
  • Shingle replacement & repair
  • Leak location & repair
  • Repair of damaged flashings
  • Gutter replacement & repair
  • Roof cleaning

HomeGuard Restoration is a family-owned business that strives for world-class service and customer satisfaction. We use only premium materials and guarantee the quality of our repairs and installation.

TPO

Installing TPO Roofing SystemTPO, or thermoplastic polyolefin, is a single-ply reflective membrane that acts as a combination of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene. It essentially has the flexibility and weather resistance of rubber and the performance of hot-air welded thermoplastic seams. The white TPO membrane has excellent heat reflectivity, making it highly energy-efficient while remaining affordable.

Benefits of TPO

Aside from being one of the most affordable weather-resistant roofing options, TPO is also very environmentally-friendly. The reflective membrane will make it easier to keep your facility cool during the summer, and the seal will make it easier to keep everything warm in the winter. TPO is also 100 percent recyclable, so you won’t have to worry about the membrane taking up space in a landfill when it comes time to install a new roof. In fact, you may be able to use some or all of the TPO membrane on a new roof, which further cuts down on costs as well as your business’s carbon footprint.

TPO membranes are also very durable, and they can make your roof highly resistant to dirt and debris. TPO is also a highly flexible material, which makes it resistant to tears, punctures, and impact damage. This flexibility will also translate to a roof that will hold its shape as the rest of the building settles. TPO is available in thicker membranes, which offer even more protection from the elements and from impact damage. Thicker membranes are more expensive, but they add enough to your roof’s lifespan that it is well worth the extra cost.

Finally, installing a TPO membrane is very easy, even when compared to other roofing options. Most TPO membranes are installed in wide sheets that can be made to fit your facility’s roof, which makes installation quick, easy, and affordable. This is especially true of Genflex TPO, which is available in several varieties that are all very easy to install. Since TPO is a fairly new roofing material, research is currently being done to make its installation even easier and more convenient.

At HomeGuard Roofing & Restoration we offer both Genflex and GAF TPO. Both options are ideal for residential flat roofs or roofs with a low slope. They are also suitable for re-roofing solutions that require superior performance at affordable prices.

EPDM

Installation EPDM Roofing SystemEthylene Propylene Diene Monomer, or EPDM, is an exceptionally strong and durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane that is commonly used on low-slope buildings throughout the United States. This rubber roofing membrane has been in use for over 40 years, and it has been known to last for 30 years or longer when it is properly installed and maintained. HomeGuard Roofing & Restoration offers roofing systems from GenFlex that feature four single-ply EPDM membranes.

Benefits of EPDM

EPDM is one of the best roofing options in terms of affordability and durability. As we said before, an EPDM membrane can last for 30 years or longer when it is installed and maintained correctly. It is highly weather-resistant, meaning that it can absorb the impact from hailstones during a severe storm while being flexible enough not to crack under freezing temperatures. This flexibility also allows your roof to accommodate structural movement, which will come in handy as your building settles.

EPDM membranes are also ideal for practically any climate. Not only are they unmatched in their ability to withstand damage from UV radiation, but they can keep a building cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Light-colored EPDM reflects sunlight and heat in warmer weather, while black EPDM absorbs heat and makes it easier to keep a facility warm in the winter. In both cases, you’ll be spending less money and energy to keep a building at a comfortable temperature, making EPDM one of the most cost-effective and energy-efficient roofing solutions available.

An EPDM roof will also require much less maintenance than other roofing systems. While many other roofing membranes require regular maintenance from damage from UV radiation or cracking due to extreme temperatures, an EPDM membrane can last for years before it needs that kind of maintenance. When that time does come, it is easy to add penetrations to strengthen the membrane and repair any cracks or tears that may be present.

Even though EPDM has been used for over 40 years on low-slope roofs throughout the United States, it remains one of the most reliable roofing solutions available. HomeGuard Roofing & Restoration offers a wide range of EPDM roofing solutions from GenFlex, almost all of which are ideal for businesses in Colorado. These are truly some versatile roofing membranes, so contact us today to learn more about which ones might be best for your business.

Coatings

HomeGuard Roofing & Restoration offers both GacoRoof and GAF silicone coating. Silicone creates a seamless membrane on your roof when it is applied and permanently protects it from ponding water, leaks, and severe weather. It is also available in a variety of colors that can enhance the appearance of any roof.

Silicone Coating Benefits

One of the most significant benefits of silicone is that it can be applied very easily, often with just a single coat. This is because it has a higher solids content than other roof coatings and tends to go on as a thicker coat. Not only does this make it easier to apply, but it allows contractors to fix minor slope problems that may be present on your roof.

Silicone can also be applied to an existing roof after only a power washing. While every roof is different, you won’t need to use a primer in most cases before you add a silicone coating. This makes application even easier, which cuts down on labor costs if you are on a tight budget.

Of course, the best reason to apply a silicone coating to an existing roof is the level of protection that it gives you. When a silicone coating is applied correctly, it creates a tight seal that can all but eliminate leaks and protect your roof from ponding water, severe weather, and anything else short of heavy impact damage. Rather than deteriorating over time like many other roof coatings, silicone will also last for years, which will, in turn, add years of life to an existing roof when it is applied. There will be some wear and tear over a period of years, but overall a silicone membrane will require much less maintenance than other commercial roofing solutions.

Silicone Coatings from GacoRoof or GAF

HomeGuard Roofing & Restoration offers silicone roof coatings from GacoRoof and GAF. The coatings from both manufacturers are of a high quality and are made to last, even though they are incredibly simple to apply. They are also available in many different colors so you can find a coating that matches the look of your home or business. These coatings work best on flat roofs or low-sloped roofs, but you can always speak with our staff if you have any questions about whether or not a silicone coating will be right for your roof.
